An Unexpected Journey

The title, an unexpected journey, I believe, does rather accurately describe my travels as I’ve never been one for much planning. I’m quite decisive, the day I decided to go travelling, I booked a one-way ticket to Vietnam a couple of days later. The reasoning? I wanted to go far away, have a bit of a culture shock and EVERYONE goes to Thailand. So Vietnam? I guess you could say I wanted to be different.

I’m a huuuuge fan of Olympic Lifting, hence Lifting Times (an online Olympic Weightlifting magazine) that you will no doubt be hearing about in future blogs. I consider myself to be a bit of a lifter. I use to be on the Great Britain Squad and have competed internationally for GB. To this day I still manage to pick up the odd bar.

I’ll be staying in hostels that, when I searched on booking.com came up at the top of the list… When I put “lowest price first”. But don’t worry, for £2 a night (which includes breakfast & free Wi-Fi)… you can’t go wrong!

I have a plan to live the nomadic lifestyle and live off my online revenue. I’ll be uploading the odd blog detailing my travels and time as a nomad (someone who works and travels – usually running an internet business/ freelancing).

I don’t know what I’m going to be doing while on the road (except for working in internet cafe’s during the day, running a magazine and building websites). I haven’t planned anything so stay tuned for (hopefully) some exciting updates.
