Josh Cox

I'm Josh Cox. I build for the web from the UK — and write about it here.

I've been building things on the web since 2016, mostly through Prystine, the web agency I run. Over the years that's grown from "making websites" into looking after them properly — performance, maintenance, and the unglamorous work that keeps a site alive.

Alongside client work I build products and tools: SendTidings for client reporting, Quotify for quote estimators, Plugin Risk Score for WordPress plugin safety — and the occasional joke that gets out of hand, like LeerHaus.

I used to be an Olympic weightlifter — I competed for Great Britain and held a British record. I hung it up years ago now, but the sport stuck: I founded Lifting Times, a magazine for the weightlifting community, and still run it today.

Outside of work, life is mostly family — my partner and our two lovely kids, easily the best and most chaotic thing I've been part of. The rest of the time it's the usual: good coffee, not enough sleep, and tinkering with small things that have no business plan attached.
